This campaign is about families. As a working mother, I’ve seen how hard it was to manage a full-time job while making sure my daughters had a safe place to go. For years, we’ve had more demand for childcare than ever, but still no solutions from Pierre. It’s time to take matters into our own hands. I want to bring together parents, businesses, and providers to give Rapid City families reliable and affordable childcare.
Every strong city starts with safe neighborhoods, and Rapid City is no exception. My father was a police officer, and I have always been bothered by the many responsibilities officers like him have to balance while trying to keep our city safe. I have a proven track record of connecting law enforcement with the tools they need to do their job safely and effectively. As mayor, I will work with officers to connect victims with specialists to keep them safe and crack down on violent criminals and drug dealers that would hurt others.
As we celebrate record growth, we must consider how we make the most of new opportunities. On my first day in office, I have committed to creating a Growth and Development Task Force to work with homeowners, builders, and businesses around Rapid City. We have more opportunities than ever before, but these opportunities require a leader with the experience to face the challenge. I’m ready and have the experience to face the challenge. I’m ready to be your mayor and to take us into Rapid City’s future.
